The most recent versions of the draw and schedule:
Updates:
AL9: Updated to reflect results from Friday results. Schedule updated. Added list of results.
INDIVIDUAL DRAW 13-14_AL9.pdf (389.89 KB)
INDIVIDUAL DRAW 13-14_AL9.xlsx (56.45 KB)
Here's the draw as it stands - subject to amendment in case any information hasn't filtered through, or if I have made any mistakes as I'm going somewhat blurry-eyed having stayed up till 1am last night poring over RZ stats and results! But hopefully nothing too major...
There is 1 Qualifying round which consists of 10 matches, to reduce the Cup draw to 16. The losers enter the plate while the winners move into the Cup 1st round.
In addition to the 10 players who lose their qualification match, to ensure everyone including the top 6 seeds are guaranteed 2 matches and to fill the plate to a draw of 16, the losers of the top 6 seeds' 1st round matches will also move to the plate (or they may opt to enter a cup play-off instead of they think they would get better matches there).
(This also avoids the usual problem of people seeing they will play a high seed in their 2nd match and feeling they would prefer to lose their qualifyer and enter the plate! This way winning their qualifyer then losing the cup 1st round means they have an extra match to play but will be seeded higher in the plate)
Those events then play as usual, with players who lose being eliminated from the competition, however I will try and give people play-offs so that everyone gets 3 matches with at least one of them being against a closely matched opponent.
That's the plan, but obviously it is still subject to change if necessary.
I apologise for the numbers etc in the draw - for the most part they can be ignored and were just my way of tracking who goes where, but it's a bit arcane and will be removed from the final draw before it is printed.
